THE THUNDER KUNGFU VISION
The best thing about Chinese martial arts is that everyone can get what they need from it. And what you need can change with age or external circumstances.
The school's layout, timetables and fees are designed so that you can opt for a complete, holistic approach, or choose a very specific element.
You get the full range of an “art for life” with
-
authentic traditional kung fu, XINGYI and BAGUA, and SHAOLIN KUNGFU with its specific cultural and historical background through our group lessons or intensive weekend courses.
-
Practical application in both martial arts and self-defence, with standing, falling, lying down and getting back up, with and without weapons.
-
Strength & Conditioning training to make your body stronger, faster, more flexible and better protected against injuries.
Would you like to focus on one or more aspects? That is certainly possible. The timetables and rates are designed to make it as easy as possible to combine disciplines and get more out of your version of Kung Fu.
After exploring the website, are you still unsure about what to choose and how?
You can come and do two days of trial classes for 10 euros, or feel free to contact us via johan@thunderkungfu.be or 0456691387 and we will figure it out together.
If you are looking for something else, something very specific, or if you want to train at other times, please contact us via johan@thunderkungfu.be or 0456691387 for private lessons and/or personal training sessions.
Are you coming from afar, then you can stay overnight at the school for a small fee
Made you laugh?

Then you will feel right at home with us.
Achieving results is fantastic, but don't forget to enjoy the process along the way.
Learning and training new skills doesn't have to be boring and overly serious.
Exploration and a playful approach are more interesting, more productive and simply more fun.
Using a ‘constraints-led approach’, your coach guides you on your quest for solutions.
In concrete terms, this means that you are allowed to play a lot, that making mistakes is part of the process, and that you get more satisfaction when you master a new skill.
THE TEACHER/TRAINER

Johan Duquet began teaching kung fu classes at the University of Valencia in Spain more than 20 years ago (in 2004). A few years later, he founded ‘Shen Yi Valencia,’ a full-time martial arts school.
During the summers of 2007 to 2013, he trained in China and gained experience in competition and as a trainer.
He was fortunate to be able to train intensively with Fu Nengbin (Chen Taiji) and Luo Dexiu (Xingyi and Bagua).
His students won several national and international titles in both form and combat competitions.
Between 2013 and 2017, they won the prize for the most complete athlete in the Spanish National Kuoshu Championships three times.
Over the years, his students have relied on traditional kung fu concepts to win medals in disciplines such as Sanda, Leitai, Tuishou, Muay Thai and MMA.
Johan worked as a permanent coach for Dojo Hikari MMA, Club Valencia Judo, and the Sanda selection of the Valencian Wushu Federation, among others, and as a guest teacher in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, the UK, Italy, Slovenia, China, Malaysia and Latin America.
Thanks to all this experience, Johan has a very clear vision and training method.
